Now that you’re here…
Having trouble keeping up? You’re not alone. The sentiment seems nearly universal; the channels, repos, forums, wikis, tweets, and meetings are, well... a lot. Good news and bad news: things are only going to accelerate as more of us are onboarded. The other good news? Probably Nothing will be here with your weekly summary of the who, what, and how. Our sincere hope is that if you feel like the week in D_D has passed you by, you can rely on this newsletter to get you back up to speed.
As every developer knows all too well, building something new from the ground up is no easy feat. Building a DAO is like building software in a lot of ways. It takes effort, discipline, and creativity. There's a lot of trial and error, and sometimes the lingering feeling that you're missing something just won't go away. But the desire to create something great is contagious, so we keep building and it's all worth it when all the pieces fall into place, and we can finally see the result of our work.
With all that said, we're delighted to welcome you to Probably Nothing edition #1.
In case you missed it… Catch up on PN#0

This Week in D_D
Work on our ERC-20 token underway
As announced last week, the Devs 4 Revolution NFTs that grant access to our Discord were claimed fast, and new memberships to D_D are paused until the ERC-20 governance token is released. Follow the Governance guild and the #tokenomics channel to keep up with progress and expect to see a proposal within the next few weeks. The aim is for the new ERC-20 tokens to build a pathway into the community for those who didn’t manage to mint an NFT, allowing us to scale as a DAO in a sustainable and inclusive way, and to reward the work of contributors. Suggested names for the coin include $D_D, $BUIDL, $VIBES, and popular this week: $CODE.
In addition to onboarding ERC-20 acquirers, there is ongoing debate on making some Discord channels open to everyone. For example: channels that focus on conversations around the DAO building public goods.
Here’s an overview from D_D member, Adam Dawson.
Initial DAO Treasury deployed
We launched a critical piece of DAO infrastructure and deployed our Treasury as a multisig contract wallet.
The role of the Treasury will be to store the assets of the DAO, which will include allocations of our ERC-20 token once it launches as well as on-chain revenues and tokens from partnerships.
The Treasury setup requires that 3 out of the 6 multisig wallet signers sign a transaction for funds to be spent, and the initial signers will serve for the first two seasons. This will give the DAO time to improve our governance and tooling processes, so that we can move to a more decentralized Treasury over time.
Partnership with Gitcoin
We announced a proposal for partnership and mutual grant with Gitcoin, one of the most prominent communities in Web3.
Gitcoin’s objective is to build and fund the open web, which aligns well with our mission to educate a new wave of Web3 builders. They also bring substantial experience establishing and growing a DAO that will be invaluable as we ourselves scale.
In numbers, the proposal is that 5% of the D_D governance token (when live) will be allocated to Gitcoin in exchange for 50,000 GTC, Gitcoin’s native token.
Don’t forget to get involved in the proposal discussion and vote!
Good vibes only
As more people join our community, we want to make sure that it remains a fun and harassment-free corner of the internet.
If you feel like you’ve been harassed or have witnessed harassment, please fill out D_D’s anonymous harassment reporting form.

Community Guild 👫
Announcements
The DAO has been hit pretty bad by bots recently. An initial solution has been to hide public channels from anyone with a "dev" role, so don't be alarmed if you can't see them. Changes in the future will allow for the reopening of these public channels.
Existing Project Updates
Wiki is very close to being rolled out! Should be finalized in the next few days.
New Initiatives
A conversation has been reopened about how we can support multiple languages.
An AMA channel is being considered to encourage people to ask the community about things they are unsure of. No silly questions please!
Help Needed
Anyone who is bi/multi-lingual and is interested in helping the DAO support more languages should drop by and say hi.
Work around our onboarding process needs to be re-ignited as we get ready to re-open the server to new members after the ERC-20 launch. Head over to the #👫-onboarding channel if you’re interested in helping out.
Member Highlights
Big thanks to Will Worth for getting the conversation going around supporting multiple languages,
Stefanie for continuing to push forward ideas and a drive to take action quickly, and
Camila for championing the AMA initiative to give everyone a safe place to ask questions.

New Initiatives
A process is being established translate this newsletter to both Chinese and Spanish!
Help Needed
Tasks are available in a spreadsheet for the newsletter each week. Anyone is welcome to introduce themselves to the newsletter team and claim a task!
