Hello World
In 2021 Web3 went mainstream. Creators from every industry have taken the leap and pooled their talents to build an open source infrastructure for the internet of the future.
But given its promise, we find ourselves asking “where are all the devs?”
Each leap forward in computer science forces us to rethink how we train software developers. Now Web3 demands new on-ramps for ambitious builders.
We theorize that the interest is there: on-chain platforms launch overnight to incredible success. We know there's someone behind the scenes wrangling the code to make it work. The question remains, “where are all the devs?”
We believe there’s no lack of developers looking to get into Web3, it's that they haven't yet found a place to call their home. We're looking to fix that by helping Web3 developers and aspirants alike to share projects, look for advice, and dip their feet in the wonderful world of collective ownership - and Probably Nothing will chronicle the journey from an insider’s perspective.
We're the place where you can find industry best practices, exciting new tools, and a community of like-minded creators looking to build, experiment, and bring ideas into the world.
So without further ado, welcome to Developer DAO's Season 0. Strap in for a wild ride.

This Week
Season 0 Start - everything you need to know
It’s finally here! Season 0 has begun. After being approved by 99.67% of the total 600 votes followed by an intense week of building 🛠️, our first season is taking off.
It's only been a week, and guilds are being built from the ground up, new projects have started, collaborations were forged, and most importantly, the vibes are just right.
You can read all about Developer DAO’s Season 0 on the forum.
Genesis NFT Minting
We're proud to announce that all of our genesis Devs 4 Revolution NFTs have found a home in the wallets of new members. This means our first 5.4k members can find their way into our community via the NFT-gated Discord. We're now working on a new ERC-20 governance token (and tokenomics around it) that will be airdropped to anyone who held the NFT at the time of the snapshot - taken when the last NFT was minted.
Please note that new entry into the DAO is temporarily closed until the new governance token is released and a new onboarding process is defined.
The community is starting to form an identity, establish workflows, and figure out where it’s headed. You don’t have to be a developer to get involved! We’ve established six guilds where people with various skill sets can jump in and contribute: Community, Development, Designers, Writers, Governance, Marketing + BizDev.
Since the initial NFT sale, we've been working on some nifty derivative projects for our token holders to enjoy. Bringing some dynamism and fun to being a part of Developer DAO is amongst our biggest priorities at the moment and DAO members have no shortage of great ideas in this vein!
New discord bots and how to use them
Who doesn't love friendly robots? This week we've announced two new Discord bots that will be hanging out in the server.
First, say hello to DEVIE. DEVIE is our newsletter curation bot. DEVIE will look out for any post that receives five or more 📰 emojis and reposts it on the #newsletter-feed channel. If you think a post should be included in the newsletter just use the newspaper emoji on Discord posts and DEVIE will do the rest.
Next up is Resource Bot. This one will be helping out with our ambitious plan of creating the most comprehensive Web3 knowledge base anywhere. You can use this bot to add content and structure to the resource base from any channel on the server.
If you're interested in learning more about the resource base and how to use this new friendly bot, check out its wiki page.
Developer DAO as ENS delegate
It’s airdrop season and ENS joined the party with their $ENS token launch.
With great airdrops comes great governance responsibility. Fear not, D_D is one of your delegate options. If you haven't yet already delegated your votes, please consider Delevoper DAO at the ENS address: devdao.eth.
We’ve already gathered over 57k votes 🚀. You can find our original delegate application submission here.

A smart contract that deploys an NFT and/or ERC20
A front-end that describes how the DAO works
A README that includes information about starting a DAO such as token-gating a Discord server and tradeoffs to consider when starting a DAO
Our developers have been making great progress on the DAO Job Board project. After discussions this week about process and planning, the team is working on creating a roadmap and user stories for future work.
The first official Development Guild Hackathon is in early planning stages. Input and ideas from the community are encouraged!
