Introduction
It’s been a week for growth and learning in Developer DAO. Well… every week in D_D is for growth and learning, but this one came with some difficult decisions in addition to the vibes we are all accustomed to. Before we move to the next stage of growth, the DAO is taking steps to ensure that we welcome members from all walks of life, in Nader’s words, “to be an inclusive, welcoming, and safe place for everyone and help people everywhere through education and public goods.”
This Week
Advisor Removal
Cooper Turley was removed from his role as an advisor after an offensive history of tweets surfaced, undermining the work of building an inclusive community. The DAO is using the event as an opportunity to reevaluate how best to meet its commitment to diversity and inclusion and will look to the community to help redesign processes for selecting leaders, growing membership, and addressing violations of the code of conduct. An amendment to the token proposal can also be expected, following community feedback. This Friday’s Town Hall will be dedicated to these topics.
D_D Vibes
The DAO’s daily casual hangout kicked off this past week. Join every weekday at 1pm EST in #developers-voice. RyanCoordinator facilitates a laid back discussion about anything and everything that is top of mind for attendees. It’s a great way to share ideas, ask questions, and get to know some of your fellow D_D members.
Dev-N-Tell
Join the Developers Guild for a slightly more structured hangout where D_D members share what they’ve been hacking on or are passionate about. Interested in attending or presenting? Check out upcoming talks or sign up for a presenter spot on Notion.
