Introduction
Sometimes you just can’t get enough of a good thing. Right now, that’s Season 0 here at Developer DAO. Sure, in the next few seasons we’ll be raising the world’s largest league of Web3 buidlers, but we’ve got some good things in the works and will likely take a little extra time to make sure the foundations here in Season 0 are rock solid.
But that doesn’t mean we’re not making moves! The official D_D blog is up, and ready to onboard Web3 creators who will chronicle the inner workings of our organization, while also providing a platform for members to share their expertise. On top of that, we are getting even closer to the launch of our governance token, and steps are being taken to keep diversity and inclusivity a priority before we open up to new members.
With all the noise and excitement in the DAO, we’re here to provide an easier-to-digest weekly overview.
Just remember... It’s Probably Nothing.
Interested in sponsoring Developer DAO?
Are you looking to reach a global audience of Web3 talent, ranging from ambitious n00bs to blockchain black belts? Consider partnering with Developer DAO by sponsoring our publications and events, or offering exclusive perks and services to D_D members. We reach a massive audience across all our platforms and (not to brag, but) our engagement is through the roof. If you’re interested, fill out this form and a representative from the DAO will be in touch.
This Week
Extending Season 0
Voting to extend Season 0 by two months to Mar 12th is currently open! The extra time will allow the DAO to refine thinking and solutions to the token launch, DAO structure and processes to support future growth, DAO launch events, and other foundational issues. The revised timeline proposal passed the forum vote and has been elevated to Snapshot voting.
On a related note, now that the $CODE Governance Token Proposal passed the forum vote, don’t forget to cast a vote on Snapshot. Voting is open until Jan 14th.
Web3Con
The first ever D_D live event is happening the first week of March. Web3Con will be a virtual event hosted on gather.town. Here are the latest meeting notes. The event organizers are looking for speakers, sponsors, and design help. If you’re interested, please join the conversation in #d_d-virtual-conf. Interested sponsors can contact Colin4ward#6586 on Discord. Check out the sponsor packages here.
D_D’s publication platform
Our new home for member-created content is up at https://blog.developerdao.com. We’ll be using Hashnode’s new Team Publication feature; for the full story, see Marc’s introductory blog post.
The blog’s aim is to serve the needs of developers with different degrees of Web3 knowledge. We’ll be posting articles, tutorials, and interviews with developers already working in the field. Support for more advanced devs might come in the form of highlighting industry opportunities and interview practice. We’ll also be showcasing the Web3 tools and public goods that D_D is working on and making space for less technical subjects too, such as personal journeys into Web3 and thoughts on the future of the industry.
If you’re interested in creating content for D_D, please join the Writer’s Guild and head to #❗-hashnode-blog-invitations to be added as a contributor on the publication.
DAOversity
We want to make sure D_D is an inclusive organization and a safe space for everybody to contribute. The Community Guild is requesting comments on a Diversity & Belonging Survey - an anonymous and periodically-administered survey to help us identify opportunities to make the DAO more welcoming for everyone. If you want to get involved in this work, head to the #daoversity channel in the Community Guild.
LexDAO joins the fray
LexDAO – a collective of lawyers and engineers working on the legal aspects of Web3 – is partnering with D_D to help us navigate the primordial legal landscape for DAOs. Naturally, we want to ensure that contributors and the DAO itself are not taking on undue liabilities. If you want to learn about the partnership or if you have legal queries, check out the #legal-questions-with-lexdao channel.
