There’s a lot going on as we approach Season 1, from the $CODE drop, to reopening membership, to travel sponsorships for conferences. As always, the Probably Nothing team is here to keep you up to speed!
One thing you’re sure to hear a ton about this week: the inaugural web3con conference is underway! There’s $60K up for grabs in prizes, 43 hackathon teams (and counting), and a killer line-up of speakers and workshops throughout the week.
We also are wrapping up D_D Season 0 in short order. If you have been an active member in D_D so far and yet to sign up for Coordinape, please do so here ASAP! Note that you should submit your wallet address with our Genesis NFT.

The Streamr Network is now a protocol run by its users! Following the Brubeck Mainnet launch, anyone can run a node to power the network, meaning its uptime is no longer dependent on the Streamr team. This gives Web3 a new protocol for truly permissionless real-time data. To participate, first launch a Broker Node, stake $DATA using Polygon, and mine rewards for powering the network with your bandwidth. Learn more about the Streamr and running a node.
This Week
web3con is live!
The time has come – web3con, D_D’s inaugural virtual event, is underway! web3con is taking place between Feb 28th and Mar 6th, and you can still register here. The hackathon part of the event is already running – we have a $65k prize pool thanks to Decentology, Polygon, Filecoin, Livepeer, Radicle, Hedera, and the Graph. Hackathon submissions close at 00:00EST on Mar 7th. The conference part of web3con will take place on Gather.town Mar 5th and 6th, and you can check out our speaker roster here.
D_D re-opened for membership
Anyone holding one of the genesis D4R NFTs is now welcome to join D_D. We are also opening up free scholarships, with the first 10 going out next week. If you are interested in being sponsored, please apply here. To learn more about getting started with D_D, check out this guide.
Season 0 wrap-up and preparation for Season 1
In preparation for Season 1 and the launch of the much expected $CODE token, we are postponing the incoming Coordinape epoch to 12am on Mar 7th in order to make sure that all contributors are included. To participate, fill out this form and make sure you submit the wallet address which holds your Genesis NFT.
We are also working on a proposal for a reward system for contributions using $CODE governance tokens. These are currently two versions in draft form, which can be found here and here.
The proposal to allocate 1k GTC per month for 5 months starting Feb 1st to full-time contributors #with-heart, #Kempsterrrr, and #RyanCoordinator so that they can continue to drive the work of the DAO forward is up for forum voting before it moves to Snapshot.

Project Updates / Announcements
Following the success of the Coordinape demo epoch, the true Coordinape process for rewarding early contributors is set to begin early this month. All active DAO members are encouraged to join the circle to vote. Even if you were not an early contributor, your votes reward other members for helping make the DAO what it is today. Please read through the wiki page that walks you through the process.
The proposal for short-term treasury allocation to retain core staff (P-9) is out of draft phase and up for forum vote before moving to snapshot. To summarize, the proposal seeks to reward with-heart, Kempsterrrr, and RyanCoordinator for their full-time contributions to Developer DAO.
There are two new $CODE related draft proposals up for discussion on the forum. Both proposals outline methods for rewarding contributions with our upcoming governance token. One proposes using an hourly rate system, the other, assembling a Tokenomics Team to maintain and improve the Rewards System.

The Ukrainian government is accepting donations in BTC, ETH and USDT to its official addresses for support against Russia. So far they have raised over $10 million from cryptocurrency donations.
The hacker behind the DAO hack in 2016, has now apparently been found according to journalist Laura Shin. The DAO raised around 12.7 million ETH ($150 million at the time) in ETH in 2016 but due to code vulnerabilities, it was hacked by an anonymous user and 3.6 million ETH was compromised.
Pixelmon is an NFT project that raised over $70 million earlier this month. Pieces cost around 3 ETH ($10,000) and their artwork was revealed to be low-quality pixel images, resulting in an outcry from buyers.
