0xdev8, D_D member since 2023, got into the web3 space in 2019 and started Solidity from version 0.4. He is currently a Fullstack Blockchain Engineer and Architect in three agencies. Working on Bitcoin, Ethereum, L2, Solana, and Rust projects.

@pbillingsby got into web3 after watching a tutorial from Nader Dabit in 2021. He minted the Genesis NFT and joined Developer DAO the same year. 🏆 Hiro x D_D Hackathon

The Hiro x D_D hackathon has ended. Project submissions were originally expected to be turned in on Tuesday, March 19. However, an issue with the submission form was extended for a further 24 hours.

All submissions are now locked in as we await judgment on project submissions and Hiro's team's announcement of the winner. Thanks to all those who participated in the hackathon.

Developer DAO is creating an RPC Gateway on the POKT Network to provide decentralized, censorship-resistant access to high-performance blockchain data whilst funding public goods. This RPC will become active before the end of the year's second quarter. Contact @kempsterrrr for collaboration opportunities.

Our D_D x Hiro hackathon, with a prize pool of $7000, is currently running. Billyjitsu and Ryan, Hiro's DevRel, kicked off the hackathon with a workshop. Participants are required to write a custom contract or full-blown application using Chainhooks. You can get access here. 

Winners will be chosen based on the ingenuity and functionality of their applications. They can claim a portion of the $7000 prize pool paid in BTC sats. The competition is open to all, and submissions are due by March 19 at 11:59 pm UTC.

🛠 D_D Workshop: Building on Bitcoin Layers - Code your first Dapp on Stacks

The D_D x Hiro competition kick-off workshop featured Ryan, the Dev Rel at Hiro, demonstrating how to code and deploy your first dapp on the Stacks blockchain.

Ryan showed how to code fungible tokens and swapper contracts for swapping between two tokens that meet the SIP10-traits. He also demonstrated Chainhook, a tool used for hooking into events of smart contracts.

🏛 First Town Hall of 2024

During our Town Hall last Friday, we provided updates on DAO progress and discussed future engagement strategies. Here are the key highlights from the meeting.

Farcaster Channel

We created a Farcaster channel for the DAO.  Exciting conversations are underway regarding the creation of Farcaster frames in the DAO. Do check them out!

Governance

• We are currently discussing migrating CODE liquidity to a Layer 2 (L2) solution. Your input and feedback on this matter are crucial. Please stay tuned for further updates.

• A vote is underway regarding integrating the DappaDan Protocol Newsletter into our DAO. Please vote if you haven’t voted yet.

• Talent Layer is creating a bounty board for D_D. This will allow members to earn by working on bounties. Currently, members are voting on the proposal in Snapshot.

EthDenver

• D_D is partnering with two partners on events at EthDenver. The collaboration with Pokt Network will feature a deep-dive discussion on decentralized infrastructure, decentralized AI, and more.

• Pokt Network and D_D are hosting a Lego-themed party where members can create Lego merchandise and take it home. An announcement about this will be made in the coming days.

Academy V2 Launch

The version 2 of the Academy will be released on Wednesday, February 14. This version includes:

• fundamental blockchain concept.

• Project-based tracks that cover the creation and deployment of tokens in Solidity and Vyper.

• Introduction to Oracles

All are encouraged to try it, and interested content partners should reach out to discuss mutual goals and objectives.

Eden Protocol

Eden AI helps hiring managers understand a potential candidate for hire. The AI deeply understands and acts as a talent coach for a candidate. Some updates on Eden include;

• Eden MVP has been live for some months.

• The first revenue flow back has occurred from Eden to the DAO.

• Eden AI has successfully performed about 500 interviews.

• There is a relaunching and rebranding of the Eden brand.

• The platform is working on an on-chain multi-player referral. 

Argo Academy

Argo is a video-based technical tutorial system with an on-chain certification system. It is meant to be embedded into documentation. It is one of the learning platforms in the DAO.

• Interview and selection process for a fellowship program with Press Start Capital

📈 Chainbase x D_D Hackathon Report

Last October, we hosted a hackathon with Chainbase and received some results!

They had over 100 participants who submitted more than 30 projects. In total, the hackathon got over 1 million views across all social media channels.

So, we can say with confidence: hosting a hackathon with D_D is worth it!

We seek feedback from the community on the stewards' role before new stewards are elected. The objective is to gather perspective and feedback from members on the role and also share any lessons learned by existing stewards on how to improve the Steward role.

If you have any suggestions on how to make the Steward role more optimized, please share and join the conversation here. 

P-35: Academy & Argo Academy

The community had the opportunity to decide on the best path forward for two sub-DAO proposals with similar operations domains through this proposal.

The community, by an overwhelming vote, chose to support both initiatives.

• External Delegate Process — the DAO is seeking to establish a process for voting in external DAOs and protocols where the DAO is a delegate. For example, D_D is currently a sizable delegate in ENS DAO, but is not voting as we don’t have a process for determining how the majority of members would vote.
